CNY SPaRC has many events and teams geared for the ex-jock or the couch potato and all levels in-between.  If we get enough interest for a new team or event, then a member usually takes the organizing lead. You need no skills to play with us, just a desire to try hard and a willingness to have fun and stumble now and then.  (Note: For the most up-to-date information browse the message board.) In addition to the sports below, we have had interest in Frisbee golf, flag-football, and soccer.

SPaRC had an amazing 5 teams in the Trappers Pub league in 2007. There are two sessions that span the entire summer, though you don’t have to play in both.  Please contact Brian Killoran at killoranbn@netzero.net to get on the 2008 list.

Golf
CNY SPaRC is organizing two golf leagues for this spring and summer.  The Wednesday League is a traditional golf league playing at Drumins Country Club every Wednesday night for 16 weeks.  The Duffers and Diners League will rotate courses throughout the season based on the choices of the members.

2008 Wednesday Night Golf League
CNY SPaRC is hosting a traditional golf league at Drumlins Country Club.  The league will run for 16 weeks starting on April 30th.  The league will cost $240 and we will have 16, hopefully uninterrupted, weeks of golf.  In addition, for signing up, you get 2 free passes to play 18 holes whenever you want. 

Dates: 16 Weeks beginning on April 30th (Rain Dates will be made up at the end of the season)
Time: Tee times are 5:00-5:15
Location: Drumlins Country Club
Cost: $240 by cash or check - $247.48 by PayPal (to cover PayPal fees)

2008 Thursday Night Duffers and Diners Golf League
In our constant pursuit of innovation here at CNY SPaRC, we've set out on a new format for the golf league, now entering its 5th year!  Instead of locking into one course for the year, we are going to travel each week to a different course.  We will set the schedule up ahead of time so you will have it for the whole summer. This way, you can pick and choose when you want to play with us. We will start as soon as the courses open and we will mix in different courses (some hard, some easy, some expensive, some cheap).

Let us know if you want to be on the contact list for this league.  Each Friday we will send out an email to the contact list specifying the golf course we are going to play that next Thursday and the restaurant we are going to eat at afterwards.  You have to RSVP by Monday night so we can get tee times and set up.

There are so many courses (and places to eat!) around here, this golf league will give you chance to experience many of them while making new friends without committing to the same course for a set fee for the whole summer.

UPDATE: Due to the overwhelming response, the Diners and Duffers Golf League is now accepting names for a secondary waiting list. This list will be contacted to play only if there is space available which will depend on the number of tee times available at the course we are playing that week and the number of RSVPs from the regular "league" members.  If you have an interest in joining this league, please do so, some courses will allow very large groups so this secondary list will have some, if not many, chances to play this summer. Also to clarify the structure, this is a pay-as-you-go league, which means you pay directly to the course only the weeks you want to play.  The calendar of courses and restaurants will be released soon!
