Operation SPaRCle: Sno-ball Softball In February, SPaRC successfully raised the most money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation's annual softball tournament.  Valentine's Day Massacre On February 19th, we held our fourth annual Valentine's Day Massacre at the Caddy Shack in Liverpool.  We hosted a special guest for our massacre: RAVIJA. Halloween Bash Every year, CNY Sparc dresses up for Halloween and joins thousands of other upstate New Yorkers at the New York State Fairgrounds for the largest costume party in Syracuse.  Finger Lakes Wine Tasting On September 9th, CNYSPaRC took on the grape country via rail! We rode along the fully restored Finger Lakes Scenic Railway through the Finger Lakes tasting multiple wines. For lunch, we picnicked along the beautiful shores of Skanteateles Lake. Miniature Golf On September 16th, we played a round of mini-golf at Big Don’s Wild River.  The weather was beautiful, and was for the putting.... well, the weather was beautiful! Party on the Patio On August 11th, CNY Sparc rented out at a patio at Alliance Bank Stadium in Syracuse to root on our AAA baseball team: The Syracuse Sky Chiefs! Fourth Annual Kickball Tournament Nothing could kjeep us from kicking balls like we were back in grade school.  It rained, it misted, people got wet and cold but in the end a great time was had by everybody! Rock Climbing 2006 In May 2006, CNY SPaRC went to Rock Ventures in Rochester.  After practicing on the rocks, we then explored the city of Rochester. Race for the Cure 2006 On May 13, 2006, Operation SPaRCle helped to assist in the CNY Race for the Cure.  We staffed some of the registration table, crowd control and race timing. St. Patrick's Day 2006 CNY SPaRC constructed a float and then braved the freezing temperatures to march in this year's St. Patrick's Day Parade in Syracuse.  This year's theme was "A Little Piece of Heaven". Spring Bowling 2006 In the spring of 2006, Bella Luna Lanes hosted an 8-week bowling league for CNY SPaRC. Sno-Ball Softball On February 25, 2006, CNY SPaRC participated in the Sno-ball Softball Tournament as part of the Syracuse Winterfest.  The proceeds benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation and SPaRC won the trophy for the most money raised! Valentine's Day Massacre On February 17, 2006, we gathered for our fourth annual Valentine's Day Massacre at Ambrosia in Armory Square!  We enjoyed some Valentine's themed games with complimentary food! Syracuse Crunch 2006 On February 11, 2006, we headed to the War Memorial to root for the hometown team against their biggest rival.  This time, there was no contest! Super Bowl Party Pigskin, Snack Foods, Commercial Advertising... It must be the Super Bowl!  On  February 5, 2006, we enjoyed the Super Bowl at a party hosted by Daniel Jack's! Travel Auction On January 21, 2006, CNY SPaRC members participated in the WCNY Travel Auction to benefit the station, AND support the Center for Lifelong Learning, GED on TV and READ-OUT! We helped take donations over the phone while wearing our festive Hawaiian outfits! Afterwards, we headed to the Cobblestone for an after party. 2006 Bowling On January 28, 2006, SPaRC rented out half of Bowl Mor Lanes in East Syracuse for a night of fun. Approximately 50 people showed up and the only ones not to enjoy themselves were the pins! 2006 New Year's Eve Party On December 31, 2005, SPaRC had a New Year's Eve Party at Rewind's in Liverpool. We had a nice dinner and then a DJ entertained us until the feature attraction of the evening: local favorite band "Under the Gun". Ice Skating 2005 On Friday December 16, 2005, CNY SPaRC invaded the skating rink in Clinton Square for some good times on ice and with snow. For some people, it was their first time on skates while others in the group were experienced experts. A good, if not snowy time, was had by all. Cruise Party - 2005 On November 15, 2005, the remaining members of CNY SPaRC braved the elements to sip mojitos and appletinis at Downtown Manhattan's! Op.SPaRCle Holiday 2005 This Holiday season, CNY SPaRC participated in the Jingle Bell Run/Walk to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation. We also conducted a Salvation Army Kettle Drive at Carousel Center. These are the photos! 2005 Bahamas Cruise On November 13-17, 2005, CNYSPaRC went cruising in the Bahama Islands on a Carnival Cruise. There were no pirate attacks, only good times with good friends! 2005 Wine Tour On October 8, 2005 CNYSPaRC toured five wineries in the Cayuga Lake region. The event was organized in conjunction with the 40 Below Summit and many of the attendees joined us for this event. We visited Swedish Hill, Knapp, Cayuga Ridge, Thirsty Owl and Sheldrake Point wineries. 2005 Halloween Party Every year, SPaRC attends the Y94FM Halloween Party and this year was no different. This year's party was at the Verizon Center of Progress building. We had many original costumes including a a priest, a pirate, a pair of devils and several Superheroes (Batgirl, Catwoman and Supergirl). OSC Lodge Trip The Onondaga Ski Club hosted a weekend at their Vermont Lodge for CNYSPaRC and CNY Edge members.  We enjoyed the beautiful Fall Foliage and mountains with friends from Onondaga Ski Club and CNY Edge.  We had a cocktails and cheese party on Saturday night as well as a pot-luck dinner.  We also visited the Ben & Jerry's factory located in Vermont! 2005 Golf League The 2005 CNYSPaRC Golf League recently concluded.  While nobody qualified for the PGA Tour, a good time was had by all! 2005 Summer Softball Here are your 2005 CNYSPaRC All-Stars! Renaissance Festival On July 9th of 2005 CNY Sparc blasted into the past during a trip to the Renaissance Festival in Stirling.  There was tomato tossing, jousting and court jesters... oh my! Op. SPaRCle - Spring 05 In the spring, CNY SPaRC participated in an Adopt a Highway cleanup effort and a 5k AIDS walk/run. 2005 Kickball Tournament Sponsored in part by the Syracuse Parks and Recreation, the Annual CNYSPaRC/Syracuse Playground Sports kickball tournament was held on June 4th at the Onondaga Lake Park in Liverpool. A CNYSPaRC Tax Break! On  Friday, April 15th, CNYSPaRC threw its first ever TAX BREAK!  Held at  Mezzanotte Cafe and Lounge, Music was provided by Ashley Cox of ThINC and Massage Services were provided by Delphi Healing Arts Center and Nurturing Touch Massage. Low Dough Ski Trip CNY SPaRC visited the slopes of Labrador Mountain for a day of skiing, snowboarding and miscellaneous falling down! 1st Annual St. Patrick's Day Float! CNYSPaRCers enjoyed a beautiful day marching in their very first St. Patrick's Day parade.  This will surely be an annual event!  February 2005 Events February 2005 was packed full of CNYSPaRC Events.  Here are pictures from our Monthly Mixer, Xtreme Bowling and Relaxology 201: Euchre Card Night! "Pre" Valentines Day Massacre Held at Phoebe's on February 11th.  Co-sponsored by Possibilities of Central New York. A Night with the Crunch!: CNYSPaRC & ASC Despite over 2 feet of snow in CNY, 42 CNYSPaRCers and Auburn Social Clubers gathered to cheer on the Syracuse Crunch as they took on the Rochester Amerks!  Syracuse won in overtime!  Way to go Crunch! The Annual Holiday SPaRCle & Ice Skating Photos The Third Annual Holiday SPaRCle, held at Mezzanotte Cafe & Lounge on December 11, 2004.  Attendees donated gifts to the US Marines Toys for Tots holiday program.
